IT’S ALL ABOUT ME

I woke up this morning with a phrase running through my head: “Make a difference through me.” And the “me” I saw as ME = My Effort. God will do good things, but through our efforts. I know this is fundamental, but I saw this as a message to people everywhere to remember that it takes personal responsibility to touch other people’s lives. It can’t be done through a church or a mosque or a synagogue. It has to be done “through me.”

People don’t sense love when you tell them it’s Christ Community Church or Shaarey Zedek or Masjid Wali Muhammad handing out water, food or clothing. But when you say “I love you” it means something.

Personal responsibility. Personal effort.

MY responsibility. MY effort.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Eph. 2:10

Of course, it’s GOD working in us and through us, but He expects nothing less than for us to express His love through our actions. Not the Pastor’s actions or the Missions team’s travels or the band’s efforts.

Jesus’ example to us is one of personal sacrifice and loss. He didn’t “show up” in power and glory, with a host of angels and ministering spirits. He came Alone. Defenseless. Powerless. Naked. Weak. Poor.

No weapons, threats, armies or violence. Just Him, with the Father’s Love.

We have the same love.

One Love.

God is Love.

  1. Again, I have to say that I am not trying to stir things up, but I have to take exception with the last comment. “we are the Line of Juda”…..
Definition of Judah:–noun 1. the fourth son of Jacob and Leah. Gen. 29:35.
    2. one of the 12 tribes of Israel traditionally descended from him.
    3. the Biblical kingdom of the Hebrews in S Palestine, including the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. Compare Ephraim (def. 3).
    4. a male given name: from a Hebrew word meaning “praised.”

Maybe you ment to say that Jesus was called the LION OF JUDAH ?

We all know that Armor was the uniform of a warrior but do we ever look at what Armor really is?
    Truth
    righteousness
    Peace
    Faith
    Salvation
    Spirit
    Prayer
Dont sound like any marching orders that I ever got when I served in the military. The spiritual battle is won by turning the other cheek, loveing thy neighbor and living in peace with your enemy.
Going the extra mile for the non-christian.
That which you have done to the lease of ‘these’ you have done for Me said the Lord.
NOW IS THE TIME TO HUMBLE OURSELVES.
Jesus WON by LOOSING, get it ?
    Its upside down, inside out….
    It is finished……..

  2. Amen! Way too many people sit back and wait for God to do His will not realizing that through Christ we have been given the authority to do His works in the name of Jesus. We are the Line of Juda. Now is the time for boldness by putting on the full armour of Christ, that we may go into battle against the powers and principalities. It’s Spiritual Warfare! Get Ready! Be Ready! Let His strength, mercy, grace love and glory abound everywhere we go. In Jesus’ name. Amen

  3. “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”
“It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.”
    -St. Francis of Assisi

  4. Awesome Dennis! Love the statement about Christ coming alone. He did choose to come alone even though he had the whole host of heaven at his disposal. May we choose to sacrifice the way Christ did.

  5. Excellent! Too many ppl are sitting back waiting on God to
    accomplish His will.
    Get up and do something!
(Might be a littleoff topic but hey)

  6. Good stuff, Dennis…I was just talking with another brother about Jesus’ (and the apostles’) example not being popular with a lot of Christians…they don’t really want to hear about “personal sacrifice and loss.” Hence the popularity of certain celebrity preachers and their emphasis on material goodies in the here and now.

  7. Thanks Dennis-

If we are not reminded of fundamental and foundational truths, then we will lose them. It’s always refreshing to hear from you. Continue to be blessed and let HIM make the difference through US.

    “I Love you” Brother

  8. Amen brother, preach it.. We need to hear it. We need to rethink things at times in our lives. If we understand, and don’t do, then we don’t understand. If we know we should touch someone or do something, and know that. But we choose not too, then we don’t get what Jesus was showinng us all along. To reach the lonely, the weak, the hurting, with love and kindness.

And I really can’t wait to see more of the rich man story..

  9. One Love, One Heart
Let’s get together and feel all right
Hear the children crying (One Love)
Hear the children crying (One Heart)
Sayin’ give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right
Sayin’ let’s get together and feel all right

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One Love)
There is one question I’d really like to ask (One Heart)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own?
    Believe me

    One Love, One Heart
Let’s get together and feel all right
As it was in the beginning (One Love)
So shall it be in the end (One Heart)
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right
    One more thing

Let’s get together to fight this Holy Armageddon (One Love)
So when the Man comes there will be no no doom (One Song)
Have pity on those whose chances grove thinner
There ain’t no hiding place from the Father of Creation

    Sayin’ One Love, One Heart
Let’s get together and feel all right
I’m pleading to mankind (One Love)
    Oh Lord (One Heart)

Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right
Let’s get together and feel all right

  10. I have noticed that everyone has a ‘ministry’ but no one is ministering as The One did. Building ministry is the primary purpose instead of unconditional love and unconditional service to ‘thy neighbor’. Focus on building streams of revenue and income instead of laying down everything for those in need. Its easy to resist anthing that is not ‘club related’ by not rocking the boat and sitting in the pew’s in apathy and denial. Self focus, self healing, more, more, more.
Thanks Dennis for sharing this message of the Fathers heart.

  11. What ever happened to the “awakened” people that finally saw and touched and felt the real Truth? They went from Sit-Ins and Love-Ins to Park-Ins on the pews of American churches.
Get up, get back out and spread the love He died to give to all mankind.

Way to go and the Marley, I love it.
    sophie
